We need to be prepared any situation that can happen in the outdoors. Here are a few tips that can help us keep safe in the outdoors:
1. Show the ideal skills and qualities

You need me on your outdoor trip because.....
2. Be prepared The right clothing and equipment is important for safe and enjoyable experiences in the outdoors. You have to be prepared for the worst conditions you might meet. Changes in the weather, temperature drops and scenery changes can effect the conditions and accidents can happen. You must BE PREPARED!
3. Food and Water When we do outdoor activities like tramping, we can use up a lot of energy and we have to make sure we get more energy from the things we eat.
We get energy from these food groups: - Protein- which helps repair muscles and tissues (Draw in your book some examples - milk, eggs, cheese, meat) - Fats - have high energy content and are digested slowly (Draw in your book examples - cake, bacon, butter, salami) - Carbohydrates - gives instant energy because it is digested quickly (Draw in your book - sugar, rice, pasta, bread, muesli)
Snacks are an important source of energy. If you go on a tramp remember to bring a muesli bars, fruit and nut bars and chocolate.
Water is so important when you are in the outdoors! You must drink regularly and keep yourself hydrated. (Draw a bottle of water in your book)
